Joint Basic Standard Course(Joint Forces Military University)
Common joint learning Session(2 weeks)
  • Mental learning : cultivate appropriate understanding and a true soldier's mentality for the modern age
  • Cultivate basic training to prevent security breach or sex-related accidents through common learning
Learning for each service branch Session(31.6 weeks)
  • Specialized learning of Army, Air Force and Navy for proficient operations and tactics
  • Other service branch operations(1 week) : Understrand doctrines, weapons system and operartioin plans of other services
  • Field trip aborad(1 week) : visit foreign military institutions and bases
  • Joint learning for each course and conduct respective branch service learning 
Jointness Learning Session(14.4 weeks)
  • Jointness Learning(32H) Jointness concept, learn about the history of joing war
  • Joint stratege and force(2.5 weeks) : cultivate practical execution capability for policy area
  • Joint and combined operations(5 week) : joint information, establish operation plan / execution process
  • Joint trip(3 day) : visit each service branches' operations commands and tactical units
  • UFG, joint warfighting exercise participation(5 weeks) : culticate comprehensive situation response capabilities
Joint Advanced Course (Joint Staff College)
Joint Learning Session(4 weeks)
  • Allow students to learn basics of joint operations
  • Military basic doctrine / each service branch's doctrine : Learn about joint and each service branch's basic doctrine
  • National defense planning mangement system : Understand basic concept of national defense planning management
  • Guest lecturer courses : Invite experts to improve jointness
  • Joint trip: Visit joint and combined units, operations command level units
Joint common / Elective Course(38 weeks)
  • Foster experts in joint planning, combined and joint operations
  • Joint Common learnning : Learn about national defense policy / military strategy, joint and combined operations, force planning category
  • Domestic and Foreign learning : Visit strategic institution, understand surrounding countries military strategy and opertation capability
Joint comprehensive Training(6 weeks)
  • Taegeuk Exercise (2 weeks) : Gain Familiarity with the Joint Operation Simulation model and  joint operations execution
  • UFG(2 weeks) : Gain familiarity with computer based simulation models and execution capability for combined operations
  • Comprehensive Wargaming Excercises(3 weeks) : Master crisis management and strategic decision making, and theater-level joint operation execution
Language Course (Defense Language Institute)
Long-term English Course
  • Advanced(24 weeks) : Advanced level appropriate to act as a staff officer in a combined unit
  • Intermediate(24 weeks) / Intermediate Short term(14 weeks) : Able to communicate when conduciont combined operation missions ad problem solving in different situations
  • Short-term(8 weeks) : Able to communicate in daily life
  • Overseas studies(8 weeks) : Educate officers selected for overseas studies to adapt to foreige environment
  • Combined officer cource(4 weeks) : Basic military vocabulary and communication capability for combined operations and maintain that language level
  • Interpretating course(6 weeks) : Able to interpret and translate during combined operations
Foreign language Course
  • 7 courses(24 weeks) / 2 courses(40 weeks) : Above Intermediate level(European common language strandard B1) for language capability
Korean language Course
  • Korean language Course(43 weeks) : Above intermediate Korean language level(TOPIK grade 3)
